The journey of the believer is a progressive one, a continual movement from glory to glory.
God never intended for His children to remain stagnant because His Word declares that “the
path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day”
(Proverbs 4:18). To enjoy this ever-increasing glory, one must remain in the light of God’s
presence. A person who is in darkness cannot see clearly; confusion and shame take over.
But when you step into the light, into the revelation and presence of God, you begin to see
things as they truly are. Your eyes are opened to behold His beauty, and that sight brings
transformation. When you are in the dark, you will not see, but when you are in the light,
your vision becomes clear, and you are changed by what you see.
The Scripture says in 2 Corinthians 3:17–18, “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the
Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the
glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit
of the Lord.” Transformation begins when we behold the Lord. To behold Him means to
focus on Him continually through His Word, worship, and fellowship. The more we fix our
eyes on Jesus, the more we are changed into His likeness. Glory is the opposite of shame, as
Proverbs 3:35 declares, “The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of
fools.” The more we see God’s glory, the more we become glory personified. The Bible calls
God “the Lord of glory,” and as His children, we are called to reflect His nature. Every
encounter with Him brings us into a higher level of glory.
To experience this continuous rise in glory, we must walk in wisdom. Wisdom is a key that
opens the door to divine honor. Proverbs 3:35 makes it clear that “The wise shall inherit
glory.” A fool, on the other hand, walks contrary to the will and agenda of God. Ecclesiastes
7:9 warns, “Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.” A
wise person acknowledges God in all things, while a fool lives as if God does not exist.
Psalm 14:1 says, “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.” Psalm 10:4 also says,
“The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all
his thoughts.” To inherit glory, you must acknowledge God daily, walk in humility, and live
in reverence before Him.
Another key to moving from one level of glory to another is choosing the right company.
Proverbs 13:20 teaches, “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of
fools shall be destroyed.” Your company determines your character and your direction in
life. The Bible warns us in 1 Corinthians 15:33, “Be not deceived: evil communications
corrupt good manners.” If you want to maintain your glory, you must separate yourself from
ungodly influences. Psalm 1:1 advises, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of
the ungodly.” It is better to walk alone with Christ than to walk with a crowd heading away
from God. Philippians 2:12–13 says, “Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”
Furthermore, to enjoy increasing glory, we must not only hear God’s Word but also do it.
Jesus said in Matthew 7:24, “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth
them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock.” The wise person
hears and obeys, while the fool hears and takes offense. Acting on the Word solidifies our
faith and opens the door to greater manifestations of glory. Every act of obedience moves
you higher in your walk with God.
In conclusion, to enjoy glory from one level to another, you must remain in the light of
God’s presence, continually behold His face, walk in wisdom, choose godly company, and
be obedient to His Word. Glory does not happen by accident; it is cultivated through
intimacy with God. As you grow in His presence and apply His Word, you will find yourself
moving from shame to honor, from weakness to strength, and from one level of glory to
another. The more you behold His glory, the more you become like Him until you are truly
glory personified.
